Why does my fuse box keep tripping?

The usual causes, from a faulty appliance to an ageing circuit.

A tripping RCD is usually protecting you from something — often a faulty appliance, damp in an outside socket, or wiring that has degraded with age.

Unplug everything, reset the switch, then plug items back in one at a time. If it trips again on the same item, that’s your culprit; if it trips with nothing plugged in, call us before using that circuit again.
