Ask what advertising costs in the UAE and you will be given an average cost per click across every industry from car dealerships to nail salons, which is a number that describes nobody. What follows is narrower and more useful: actual figures from campaigns currently running, and the platform minimums that will refuse your budget before you get anywhere near a benchmark.
The floors, first — because they override everything
Meta enforces a minimum daily budget per ad set, tiered by what you are optimising for. On an AED account:
AED 3.69 per day
The floor for an impression-based objective — reach, brand awareness. Per ad set, not per campaign.
AED 11.07 per day
The floor for a conversion objective — purchase, lead, content view, add to cart. Roughly three times the impression floor.
AED 22+ per day
What two audience segments on a conversion objective actually require before Meta will accept the campaign at all.
💡 We have had a launch refused for being set at AED 10 a day on a conversion objective. Nothing was created and nothing was spent, but the error message did not mention the three-times rule — it simply failed. If you have ever had a campaign refuse to launch for no apparent reason, this is the first thing to check.
The practical implication is that "test it with a small budget" has a hard floor here. Below roughly AED 350 a month you cannot run a two-segment conversion campaign at all, and below about AED 120 a month you cannot run a single-segment one.
Real figures from a running UAE campaign
A consumer-electronics retailer, carousel creative, Meta, layered interest segments, placements left to Meta to choose.
AED 0.34
Cost per link click.
4.62%
Click-through rate.
2,272 / 105
Impressions and link clicks, for AED 35.60 of spend.
Those are good numbers and it would be easy to stop there. The honest part is what came next: that campaign recorded zero product-page view events. The clicks arrived on category pages that never fired the tracking event, so the platform had no conversion signal to learn from and the advertiser had no idea which products were being looked at.
💡 A cheap click is not a result. The single most common way a UAE campaign wastes money is by buying attention efficiently and then landing it somewhere that measures nothing. Fix the destination before you optimise the ad.
Why cheap clicks are easy to buy here, and dangerous
The UAE has an unusually wide device and income spread. Meta will happily find you enormous volumes of very cheap attention from low-cost handsets, and your dashboard will look excellent. We have watched a UAE campaign deliver clicks almost entirely from budget Android devices — the audience was real people, but not people who buy advertising software, or property, or cosmetic dentistry.
Two symptoms to watch for. A cost per click far below what your category should command. And a large gap between clicks and landing-page views, which means people tapped and left before the page rendered — the signature of accidental or low-intent taps.
On one campaign we saw 45 clicks produce 28 landing page views. Roughly 38% never arrived. That is not a website speed problem so much as a traffic quality one.
Timing: what to expect after launch
4–5 hours
Typical delay before a new click or conversion ad set serves its first impression on these accounts. Not a fault — do not go looking for one.
Minutes
How fast a reach objective starts. This is why comparing a new conversion ad set against a reach one makes the first look broken.
3–7 days
Before the numbers mean anything. Meta is still learning; early cost per result is not your cost per result.
💡 And then leave it alone. Every edit to a live ad set restarts Meta's evaluation. A campaign adjusted repeatedly during its first days can spend that whole period never getting far enough into evaluation to deliver — on an account that is serving normally on everything else.
Sizing a first budget honestly
- 1Start with what a customer is worth to you, not with what you can spare. If a dental implant patient is worth AED 8,000, a cost per lead of AED 200 is cheap. If a haircut is worth AED 80, it is ruinous.
- 2Budget above the platform floor for the objective you actually want, not the one you can afford. An underfunded conversion campaign performs worse than a properly funded reach campaign.
- 3Give it a fortnight before judging. Three days of data on a new ad set is noise.
- 4Count landing-page views, not clicks. The gap between them is the part of your budget you are throwing away.
